SHAVER PHARMACY AND COMPOUNDING CENTER RECEIVES ACCREDITATION FROM NATIONAL BOARD
Pocatello, Idaho – The national Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board (PCAB) today announced the re-accreditation of Shaver Pharmacy and Compounding Center in Pocatello, Idaho. This accreditation is received in recognition of Shaver Pharmacy’s commitment to meeting and/or exceeding national prescription compounding quality standards.
“Our PCAB ® Accreditation status and our designation as a PCAB Accredited ® Compounding pharmacy demonstrates to our community and our patients that Shaver Pharmacy ranks among the best 200 compounding pharmacies in the United States for commitment to quality and professionalism,” said Dr. Lorri Shaver, Pharm.D, RPh.
“We are honored by this accreditation. It confirms our commitment to providing safe, personalized solutions that meet the medical needs of our patients and the needs of healthcare providers in our community who rely on us for these customized medicines. We believe this further strengthens the bond of trust between Shaver Pharmacy and the Pocatello healthcare community,” said Shaver.
Shaver Pharmacy has also obtained PCAB accreditation in sterile compounding; an achievement earned by less than 100 compounding pharmacies throughout the United States. While compounded medications are an integral part of the practice of pharmacy and the demand for customized medications is increasing every year many people are not aware of their vital role as a resource to healthcare providers.
Compounded medications are prescriptions written by physicians, veterinarians and other legally authorized prescribers and prepared for individual patients by specially trained pharmacists and technicians.
The Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board (PCAB) is a nonprofit organization that provides a rigorous voluntary accreditation program for compounding pharmacies nationwide.
Formed by eight of the nation’s leading pharmacy organizations, PCAB independently promotes, develops and maintains principles, policies and standards for improving the quality of pharmacy compounding nationwide. For more information, visit www.pcab.org.
